Continuous Attractors with Morphed/Correlated Maps
Continuous attractor networks are used to model the storage and representation of analog quantities, such as position of a visual stimulus. The storage of multiple continuous attractors in the same network has previously been studied in the context of self-position coding. Several uncorrelated maps of environments are stored in the synaptic connections, and a position in a given environment is ...
متن کاملAttractors for Maps with Fractional Inverse
In this work, we consider some dynamical properties and specific contact bifurcations of two-dimensional maps having an inverse with vanishing denominator. We introduce new concepts and notions of focal points and prefocal curves which may cause and generate new dynamic phenomena. We put in evidence a link existing between basin bifurcation of a map with fractional inverse and the prefocal curv...
متن کاملDynamics of Neural Networks with Continuous Attractors
We investigate the dynamics of continuous attractor neural networks (CANNs). Due to the translational invariance of their neuronal interactions, CANNs can hold a continuous family of stationary states. We systematically explore how their neutral stability facilitates the tracking performance of a CANN, which is believed to have wide applications in brain functions. We develop a perturbative app...
متن کاملControlling Chaos in Maps with Multiple Strange attractors
We study chaotic maps with multiple coexisting strange attractors and show how such systems can be controlled. To this end, a control scheme is proposed which is capable of stabilizing a desired motion within one strange attractor as well as taking the system dynamics from one strange attractor to another. To demonstrate the given control scheme, several examples are considered.
متن کاملtrange nonchaotic attractors in Harper maps
n the last two decades there has been an enormous inerest in the so-called strange nonchaotic attractors SNA). These attracting invariant objects of dynamical ystems capture the evolution of a large subset of the hase space and are very relevant for their description. n particular, SNA are geometrically complicated (they re strange) and their dynamics is regular (in most of the xamples, quasipe...
